Bark N' Bitches Celebrates 1,000 Dogs Re-Homed!

LA’s newest, swankiest dog boutique marks milestone with gala event

Shannon's baby "Jimi", named after Jimi Hendrix“On May 5th 2007, my life changed completely.  While volunteering on 6th and Gladys in Los Angeles's Skid Row, I came upon a stray puppy that would forever change the course of my life.  This filthy 12 week old beautiful pit/lab mix was eating a donut on a corner.  No one claimed him.  I took "Jimi" home, and from that point forward, I educated myself about the plight of homeless dogs in Los Angeles. I opened Bark N' Bitches in May of 2006. Never did I imagine what a success I would have in the rescuing and re-homing of these innocent victims.  The store has served as an amazing platform for educating and celebrating the new lives of these pups. I have hit a landmark of changing the lives of 1,000 pups and certainly thousands of family members.

I believe that owning a dog is one of the greatest human experiences. My beautiful Jimi passed away November 13th, 2007.  These dogs are rescued in his honor. My tag line, "Jimi's Angels... changing the lives of humans one dog at a time", is at the core of my beliefs.  I absolutely believe that the healing power of these dogs is so powerful, that it is us humans who receive the real gift.” -Shannon von Roemer, owner, Bark N’ Bitches

Join celebs and animal lovers on November 11th as Bark N’ Bitches celebrates a milestone event-the re-homing of 1,000 dogs in just 3 years! Working with D Cups Saving Tea Cups, this group of dedicated women in the Los Angeles area have banned together to educate the public on the pet overpopulation problem in California. And now they invite you to celebrate with them and help continue to raise awareness about humane pet shops, shelter animals, and spay neuter programs.

Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, silent and live auctions, raffles and more on Wednesday, November 11th from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. at Bark N’ Bitches, 505 N. Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles, CA. Ed Begley Jr.,Kim Sill holding 3 baby blue pits that will be in attendance on November 11th model Angie Everheart, and many other animal lovers will be in attendance, and Margo’s Bark Rootbeer will be offering special root beer floats. Kim Sill with D Cups Saving Tea Cups and Last Chance for Animals will be presenting a family of blue pit bulls-a mama and her 3 pups-that she rescued from San Bernadino Shelter 6 weeks ago when the pups were just a week and half old and suffering from kennel cough. They were the only survivors from a litter of 9, and will be available to be re-homed into their new “forever” home!

Proceeds from this event will help fund the next 1,000 spay/neuter procedures for the dogs at Bark N’ Bitches. Suggested donation for admission is $25 and tickets may be purchased here.  For more information about this event, visit D Cups Saving Tea Cups website or contact Kim Sill at kimsill123@gmail.com .  For more details on humane pet stores and puppy mill protests, join Best Friends campaign "Puppies Aren't Products".
