Pit Bulls and Parolees

Animal Planet airs new show featuring Villalobos Rescue Center pit bulls

Two hundred pit bulls, six paroled felons, and 10 dusty acres in the middle of nowhere. Tia Maria Torres and Animal Planet have created Second Chance Ranch, where Torres works tirelessly to rescue and rehabilitate pit bulls at Villalobos Rescue Center (VRC), the largest pit bull rescue facility in the country, with the help of her family and a team of parolees.

Villalobos Rescue Center is the crossroads for a chance at redemption, rehabilitation and rebirth for both man and man's best friend. And, at the center of it all is one extraordinary woman, Tia Maria Torres, one of the country's most renowned pit bull trainers and the founder of the center.
Follow the fiery drama and unexpected joy in this new series as felons and ill-reputed dogs come together to rescue one another from their dim pasts and bring new meaning to life. Torres works against all odds to save PIT BULLS AND PAROLEES from dangerous and abusive situations and to help repair their reputations and their lives.
According to Torres, “I just hope and wish that this show will get these dogs adopted out and show the rest of the world that rehabilitation and redemption for both man and dog are what keeps my faith for humanity alive.” Don’t miss the first episode, which airs Friday, October 30th at 10:00 PST on Animal Planet
Villalobos Rescue Center is located in Agua Dulce, CA. For more information about VRC, or to inquire about adopting a pit bull or dog training classes, call 619-268-0555 or visit their website.

I have been to Villalobos a couple of times and met Tia Maria. I had phone contact with VRC due to my volunteering at the Riverside Humane Society. I have been impressed with the conditions and care these dogs receive and have nothing but good things to say about this organization. If you love Pit Bulls and have a few hours to volunteer call them and set up an appointment to go in. You will meet some really goofy and silly dogs that will win your heart, and people that will amaze you with their dedication. I'm looking forward to the next show.
