Chihuahua rescued in Las Vegas needs loving home

This is "Friday", she is a chihuahua (maybe mix). She was found injured and in bad shape in Las Vegas. She has been seen by a vet and has a broken leg which turned out to be an old injury. She may end up a 3 legged doggie and is very timid and unsure of people. We don't really know her past other than what we can speculate.. and it doesn't seem like it has been a good one. She is currently receiving vet care, but needs to be placed in a loving home as soon as possible as her foster people cannot keep her.. they have 3 dogs already. Friday is a litte uneasy around other pets as of now, but that may change with time, love, and trust. She would probably do best as an only pet for now. If you are interested in fostering, know of any organization in Las Vegas willing to help or would like to give her a home please reply as soon as possible. Thanks!

According to this agenda for the Las Vegas City Council meeting on Nov 18th, it is "eligible" to be voted on that day. (Hope the link works - otherwise it's on the city web site.)

I have been contacting the city council representatives to vote no and they have been answering me back,

I believe in spay/ neuter of course but MANDATORY without access to low and no cost programs is a dangerous idea.

If you don't have the money for the ticket you are going to have to give up the pet to our high kill shelters ! Our euth. rates I worry will go even higher!

They want to offer vouchers "when the economy recovers" -- but they want to pass the law now! I don't think that's a good idea. It will be even worse for ferals and for cats.

Anyone know when this will be voted in?

I assisted in the rescue of 5 kittens in late August at about 4 weeks old. With generous donations from fellow employees I was able to TNR momma cat. One of the kittens has been adopted but efforts to find the other 4 homes has met with little success so far. Naturally, they are all as sweet as they can be but we have a full house with 5 dogs and 5 cats of our own. They are at a perfect age and I would love to see them get homes while they are still so very cute. Please feel free to forward this info on. Pictures can be seen at http://parrents.spaces.live.com

BF had there 1st Focus on Felines bootcamp yesterday in Las Vegas. It was a great event with a phenomenal turn out. Every seat in the house was full, 70+ attendants. I'd love to hear from other attendees.

And I'm desperate. I have been feeding and taking care of this adorable, loving kitty that was found in my apartment complex. She is just wonderful. I would keep her in a heartbeat but I can't for two reasons: (1) I already have two cats and (2) I am moving out of Las Vegas next month back home to Chicago.

This little sweetie is already neutered, and litter box trained. She obviously was someone's pet. I started feeding her about 3 weeks ago and for the past week, she has been living a quite comfortable life on my patio! Her appetite has been good, but she has a few health issues right now. I took her to the vet that was referred to me by the Humane Society. She has ringworm and some type of infection, but the vet prescribed antibiotics. This morning she was very alert and snuck out from under the wire mesh I have on my patio!! She is very very affectionate, likes her belly rubbed and is a lap cat. I sit with her as much as I can when I have time.

I am desperately looking for a good home for her and lvvhumane said they have no room for her and did not seem to extend any help or information to help me with this situation other than referring me to the vet.

I cannot keep her much longer because my upcoming move is becoming more intense and I just can't spend that much time with her any longer and this is breaking my heart! I haven't even been spending that much time with my own cats (but they're dealing with it...sort of). I belong to Home Again, the microchip network, and so far - nothing has come up in the alerts that match her description so I am assuming she is not chipped (WHY people don't do this is beyond me!!).

If anyone can help me, I woud so appreciate it.

BTW - not even for a mlllion dollars would I take her to Lied!!!

Lola is a bright and attentive female terrier mix, eager to please, and very loving. She was picked up stray, wearing a pink collar, and she was very scared. She has been on a sleepover, and we learned that she loves to play with toys, walks beautifully on a leash, and is house-trained once she knows where to go. Her house manners are excellent. She likes other dogs and would like a playmate. She is very fearful of meeting strangers and is very protective of her caregiver. She will charge and may bite when scared or meeting someone new. She needs a foster home in an adult household with someone who has the time and experience to work with her on socialization skills. Lola is young (1-2), spayed, and has had rabies shot. She appears to be in excellent health. Lola is currently at Cedar Animal Rescue in Cedar City where the person with whom she has bonded is facing surgery next week.
