Please help me find a home for a quirky dog named Chuck!!

Hello all,

I live in the Chicago suburbs and have been trying to help a dog named Chuck for almost a year. He's a sweet boy but he has fear aggression issues with some people most likely due to abuse when he was younger. Chuck LOVES all other dogs and really wants to please those he trusts! He's probably a Pit/Lab/Shar Pei mix.

I feel Chuck needs to be placed in a facility where he can possibly live out his life safely and happily as it will take a highly trained person to deal with him due to his unpredictability. Because of his issues, I can't just hand him over to anyone. I promised him I'd always keep him safe and I also want any people around him to be safe. If I can't find a home for him in a few weeks I'm going to have to put him down because I simply am not qualified to commit to keeping him. I don't have the tools, knowledge or time to give to him. I am so heart broken. I've contacted SO many rescues and trainers in the area and no one can help. Chuck does have a bite on his record from an unfortunate incident.

MURPHY WAS FOUND AS A STRAY BACK IN OCTOBER, IN UNION COUNTY, IL., JUST SOUTH OF EFFINGHAM, IL. LUCKILY, HE WAS PULLED AND TAKEN TO A VET THERE. HE IS NOW IN OUR LOVING FOSTER HOME. MURPHY KNOWS HOW TO SIT/STAY. HE CAN ALSO SHAKE. HE WALKS WELL ON A LEASH. MURPHY IS ALSO CRATE TRAINED WHICH WOULD BE NEEDED WHEN HIS "OWNERS" WOULD BE ABSENT FROM THE HOME FOR THE DAY, OR A FEW HOURS. AT LEAST UNTIL HE BECOMES COMFORTABLE AND SECURE WITH HIS SURROUNDINGS. HE IS HOUSE BROKEN AS WELL, BUT HAD A FEW ACCIDENTS WHEN HE FIRST CAME TO SEE US, BUT NOTHING IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS. HE LIKES TO CHEW, SO CHEW TOYS WOULD BE A MUST. (HE IS STILL SOME WHAT OF A PUP 1.5-2 YEARS OLD ). THERE IS NO FOOD AGGRESSION IN HIM EITHER, TOWARDS PEOPLE OR OTHER ANIMALS. HE IS GREAT WITH CHILDREN, MEN, WOMEN, CATS AND OTHER DOGS. MURPHY IS PRETTY MUCH A "READY TO GO" ADOPTABLE DOG. IT WAS VERY CLEAR HE WAS DUMPED BY HIS PREVIOUS OWNERS, SO WHOEVER IS INTERESTED WOULD NEED TO CONTACT ME, AND WOULD ALSO REQUIRE A HOME VISIT, HE WOULD ALSO WOULD HAVE TO BE AN INSIDE DOG, HE IS NOT MADE TO BE OUT COLD WEATHER AND ENJOYS BEING INSIDE WITH PEOPLE. HE'S SO CUDDLY. HE DESERVES THE BEST HOME WITH A LOT OF LOVE. HE GETS ALONG GREAT WITH MY BOXER AND THEY GET PLENTY OF EXERCISE PLAYING. HE'S NEUTERED AND UTD ON SHOTS. As a volunteer/foster for Las Vegas Labrador rescue I networked this to the various members and this came back asap. Also this rescue has a facebook page. Another source may be to google labrador rescues i Illinois and see which others may appear.

Barnie is a sweet 6 year old yellow lab looking for a new home. His owner is now in a retirement home and can no longer take care of him due to Alzheimers. These three little kittens are all ready for there new homes. They are 10-12 weeks old depending on which one you want to adopt. These are the little ones from GA pound. They were 3 weeks old when they were rescued. They have there first shots and also come with a vet cert. Lucy has her second set of shots. Lucy is a girl and has tortie markings. Indy is a boy and he is a grey tabby. Crystal is a siamiese mix and she is a girl. They little ones are all great with kids , cats and dogs. Four days before Christmas, in the bitter cold, one of Illinois Animal Rescue's volunteers witnessed a heartless monster throw a dog from his truck on the highway.

Acting quickly, the volunteer grabbed the dog before it could be hit by fast-moving traffic or disappear into the night to freeze to death.

After taking the dog to the vet for shots and a quick check up, the volunteer transported the dog, a seven-year old Rottweiller he named Noel, to a foster home in the northwest suburbs.

Update: Noel had her MRI, made possible by the generous donations! It was determined that she indeed has what is known as Wobbler's Syndrome. In otherwords, she has a lesion at the 3rd/4th cervical vertebrae leading to compression of her spinal cord causing weakness and incoordination to all four of her legs. She had a surgery that will relieve this compression and allow her more normal mobility, comfort and dignity.

As of June 23, Noel is on Petfinder and looking for a forever home!

Noel, the abandoned Rottweiller is waiting for her forever home. She is doing well after surgery to treat cervical stenosis. She is a real sweetheart and gets along well with other dogs, cats and children. Go to www.illinoisanimalrescueinc.org to see her video. .

Little Dino - Puppy Mill Victim needs medical help

Dino is the victim of a puppy mill. He came to IAR at the end of March. He was having problems with his back legs. Both knees are not in the sockets but on the side of the legs and both shins are turned out. His legs often go out on him. His condition will require expensive surgery on both legs. He will need to wait until he is at least 9 months old when he has finished growing. His condition is so bad they are going to have to cut the leg bones and insert pins to straighten out his legs. IAR will be collecting donations to help defer the costs of the surgery, which could be close to $2500 PER LEG. Donation can be made at www.Illinoisanimalrescueinc.org

Ashleigh is an eight year old, apparently, Russian Blue who has been at our local shelter two months and time is running out. She is negative for FeLV, FIV and HW and is very social. Her caregiver passed away and she was brought to us. She has been to our local Pet Smart adoptions events a few times but sleeps so quietly in her cage that no one actually brought her home. Please help in getting Ashleigh a place to spend her "golden years".

Wherever you are that’s where I want to be! Hi, I’m Max, a very affectionate, playful, 4-year-old boy who LOVES people of all ages and is good with dogs. Kept in a cage for the last 2+ years, I didn’t get to experience a normal kitty’s life. Experiences like looking out a window, walking around a house, sitting on a couch, meeting people, pets, loves and cuddles. I can’t wait to see what I was missing! Because I have feline leukemia I need to be kept indoors in a one-cat household, but no worries; humans, dogs and other animals can’t get feline leukemia, just cats. I don’t need any special medicines or medical treatment, just good food, good care and a yearly visit to the vet. All the same stuff you’d do for a normal kitty, right? If you have a problem with commitment I’d be happy with a nice foster home. Heck, I’m easy to please. Watch and see how easily I’ll please you with my FABULOUS personality.

I have two bonded cats, a russian blue and an orange tabby, who are 6 and 7 years old respectively. I am allergic to them and have been hospitalized and told to get rid of the cats. I gave them to a kid who had them for a year and is not returning them to me because he can't take care of them anymore. I've called all the local shelters and the no kill shelters flat out deny me and are quick to hang up. The kill shelters say they'll take my cats but probably will end up euthanizing them. This is NOT AN OPTION. These are household cats and really social and loving. They are not declawed as I was told that this was inhumane to do. They are low maintenance. Can anyone please help?

Trooper, a Chicagoland Bully Breed rescue dog, has been through so much. First he was used for bait and nearly died. Then he was continuously passed over and was in the rescue for over a year. We JUST got a great adoption application for him and today he got separated from his foster family while on vacation in Verona, KY. PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD SO TROOPER CAN COME HOME!!!

These two cuties were rescued from GA and are now looking for there new homes. There is a tabby girl and a black male. Both these kittens would not have stand a chance in GA there was many people looking to help to put these two precious babies to sleep. The tabby is sweet can chunky with short legs. The male black is quite the snuggler and both love to purr. These babies are good with other cats, dogs and children. They are litter trained and are eating chrunchy and soft food. If you are intrested in adopting one let me know. The kittens are on my profile pick if you want aditional pictures let me know.
