What a great story. Opi looks like my Einstein, who passed away only two days ago.

Wonderful story about Opi and only the best to you for all the work you are doing for the animals!
Dear Animal Law
I'm very sorry about Einstein. It must be so hard. I just wanted you to know that you have friends - even anonymous friends - who support you.

What a great story! Opi is so very handsome I can't believe he was ever lacking a line of people wanting him in their home, but her scored when he landed Roberta!
This was one of the most heart-warming stories I have read recently! Opi is ADORABLE and I can only imagine how happy he is now with such a loving family. Roberta, you are an inspiration and Opi is yet another deserving animal whose world has been changed by your kindness.
What a great story. Opi looks like my Einstein, who passed away only two days ago.
You just want to reach out, grab Opi, and give him a big hug and kiss (though I bet it will be a wet one). What a big heart of you, Roberta, to take on yet another animal in need! But I bet you get as good as you give. Though I'm strictly a cat person....I think if I were on the Island of Karpathos, I'd have to give in to Opi, too.
Thanks for all you do.
And thanks for an upbeat story.. so nice to read during these times of strife...or anytime actually.
Give Opi a treat for me.

What a wonderful story! I was touched and felt happy.
The photos were great too.
Such a really lovely story!
What a lucky dog Opi is!!! As well as all those wonderful kitties! Just as an fyi, I rehome dogs & cats from Greece to Canada so am very appreciative all anyone in Greece who does their part to help the strays of Greece. I just returned from my annual visit of the shelters & private rescuers that we help. Bless you for helping so many!

What a wonderful work you have wrought, Roberta, on your magical island of Karpathos! And I mean both saving the lives of Opi and Hoover and their feline friends, and also caring deeply enough to open a local animal welfare society...the only animal welfare society on the island...and to run it! You and Alf have done marvelous things--in the lives of individual animals and in helping to change attitudes toward animals for the future. This is real change, and I admire you so for it.
Abundant thanks!
This heart-warming and touching story brings a smile to my lips and a tear to my eye. Thank you for sharing it! What One Person Can Do has been forever changed to What Three People Can Do! (make one of those people a vet and you're good to go!)
Simon Teakettle III (Terzo) is thrilled to see Jorgito cuddling with Opi. Jorgito is part of Terzo's Virtual MEWSical Society. You can see all 29 cats and the parrot (!) at: www.SimonTeakettle.com/musical.society.htm

I would like to apologize to the author, Roberta Beach Jacobson, and to the readers for the photos that have been removed from the body of Roberta's story.
Best Friends Network has undergone a total overhaul and morphed into a social networking site. Apparently the photos were deleted in the changeover. I will do everything possible to restore them as soon as possible.
Please be patient, as I am learning how to use the new Network and at the moment haven't a clue how to restore these photos in the story above (or other stories on the Greece & Cyprus Community.
