Hi, my name is Carrie and I have been fostering an FIV+ male tomcat named Thor. I've been given two final weeks to find him a home, or he will be put to sleep.

Thor is a five to six year old, gray and white striped tomcat. He has been neutered. Thor has had a rough life, and so has some scars and frostbite damage on his face and ears. Also,due to his rough life, he can be defensive if he feels threatened. But treated with care, Thor is a very sweet and loving cat who loves to be petted. He is litter box trained.

I am not sure if he will get along well with other cats. I believe he would, but he has not been around other cats due to being FIV+. I live in Northern Utah, and if you can give him a home, even a temporary one, please contact me at kalestarfire7@yahoo.com

Hi, I am Duffy , a handsome shepherd mix. I have been here patiently waiting in my little kennel for seven long years. I have never lost hope, but I have to admit, my chances for my own forever home are looking a little dismal. I arrived at the shelter when I was a four month old pup and was adopted right away. But there was some trouble with my family and I ended up being returned to the shelter because they weren't treating me very well. That was when I was about 2 years old, and here I have sat ever since. I am now 9 years old and I am just wondering, how much longer do I have to wait? I have seen hundreds of friends come and go over these seven years, and I am just as handsome as they were (even more than some !) and have lots of personality. I am friendly and cheerful. Always up for my favorite games of tug of war and fetch. I know I am considered a mature adult now, but I have many great years ahead of me. I would be perfectly content to hang out with a family in their living room watching football, the news, maybe the dog whisperer or whatever they want really, their choice. I don't need a lot of exercise, but I do love leisurely walks, which I am very good at. I don't pull or chase after cats. I weigh about 50 lbs. Just the perfect size to cuddle up in one of those comfy dog beds I have heard about. I am healthy and affectionate and I really am begging for a chance at my own home and family. This handsome boy is named Stanley - he has had a rough road in life so far. He is a 5-yr old lab mix, neutered and up-to-date on all shots. He was taken into our rescue group with a broken jaw, dental abscesses, infected wounds, fly bites and had probably been abused as well. His jaw is permanently immobile; however; he has adapted to his disability. He is very very shy but extremely sweet and really enjoys being with other mellow doggie buddies and would love a big yard to run around in. He must be moved from his current boarding situation which is miserable for him with the hot weather. I would love to get him to a cooler climate. Please please open your heart to this wonderful boy that just needs someone to love and care for him!!

The dogs are very good and freindly dogs, they are well house trained. The first dog is a sweet very pregnant pit bull mix The second is a sweet brown pit mama with 3 pups The third is a rottie/sharpei mix with 6 new pups. And the fourth is a court case dog that was finally released. Her owner beat her and used her as bait for his 3 other dogs. She remarkably loves people but unfortunately is very tense and uneasy around other dogs now. These girls were to be put to sleep today but we got an extension until Saturday evening. The adoption fee is only $35 for each dog or pup to an approved rescue group. They are at the L.A. Smokey is an active and healthy 6-years-young Chow/Shepherd/Rotti mix. He has been with 11th Hour Rescue for over 2 years. He is currently at our shelter, but is occasionally fostered by a volunteer with 6 other dogs. If you want a buddy for your dogs, Smokey’s the best! Smokey LOVES other dogs (he knows to be gentle with smaller ones) and is great with his foster parents, however he has “guarding issues”. Trying to “protect” his home and owners has lead to biting. He has NEVER gone after his fosterers and trusts them 100%. His caregiver can take food away from him; check his teeth, paws, mouth; give him a bath…pretty much handle him however they want. He is also crate-trained and housebroken.

Smokey is a “big puppy” who lives to play with and meet new dogs. Yard time is fun time for Smokey! His wariness about trusting people stems from low self-esteem and past abandonment. He does not show outwardly aggressive body language when nervous, which means that he would require a dog savvy home. Once Smokey bonds with you, he would never go after you – and he bonds quickly. His forever family would increase his confidence and trust as a “nervous aggression” dog. Someone who knows when company visits, he must be crated or put in another room to avoid the “guarding” behavior.

He is a great dog that deserves a chance at having a loving home, because he has so much love and loyalty to give to you!

Smokey is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations.

I met Abigail a few weeks ago when I was taking photos of the other K9 dogs, and am so happy to find out that she's part of our new class! She made quite an impression on me. I don't know her whole story, but her impound card was marked "owner incarcerated." Poor Abigail is now in doggy jail also, and she hasn't committed any crime (other than being criminally cute!) She's a beautiful dog and seemed friendly, approached me at the front of her kennel and licked my hands. Was not very barky either, just sat quietly and waited for attention.

My name is Dr. Pepper and I swear I'm a luvbug but now I'm doubting myself. Unlovable. That must be what I am. My foster mom says that I am the most affectionate, friendly, cuddly kitten around but no one has taken me home. So I am thinking that I must be unlovable. I know that I am not the most handsome guy around and I've even heard people say that black and white cats are homely looking, but I still have a good heart. And my heart is breaking because I have no home and Christmas came and past and nobody picked me! All of my other kitten buddies got homes except me.

It seems like nobody will ever give me a home. My foster mom loves me and is always giving me kisses, which I love, but it isn't the same as having a real momma or papa. I want to be the one that is loved all the time. I love to be held and I'll even let people who don't know me hold me and I always purr in their ears trying to get them to pick me. I'm also a lap cat but nobody has ever picked me to find this out. Not even when I was a teeny tiny kitten. I always heard my foster mom say that I was the sweetest one in the litter and she couldn't believe that no one picked me. But here I am, still homeless and it must be because I am unlovable.

Now I keep hearing my foster mom and her friends talk about how I'll never get a home because my teeth are a little wonky. I swear I didn't do it to myself but I have teeth that need to be brushed every day. I didn't think it was a big deal since I always see my foster mom brush her teeth. I am really good about getting it done because now my breath is sparkling clean, but people don't want cats that need to have their teeth brushed. So there it is again, I'm unlovable!

No matter how sweet I am or how much of a lovebug I am, nobody has ever wanted to take me home. I'd love to be a lap kitty and keep someone warm but that will never happen since I'm so darn unlovable!

Just in case you are interested in meeting me and seeing if I'm lovable or not, I was born in May of 2008. I was kicked out of my house since I was no longer wanted. I am completely up to date on my vaccines, have tested negative for Feline Leukemia/FIV and have been neutered. Aside from my wonky teeth (just some gingivitis) I'm as healthy as a horse. Now I sure hope I'm wrong about being unlovable. Maybe you'll meet me and tell me that I'm really lovable. Maybe you'll be the one who finally takes me home? I sure hope so otherwise I really must be unlovable. Sigh.
