The Center for Animal Rescue and Adoption and Spay and Neuter Solutions are proud to welcome Faith Maloney, co-founder of Best Friends Animal Society, as their guest speaker for “Champagne Celebration for the Animals”. The event will take place on November 17 at the Historic Z Mansion in Tucson. Tickets to the dessert and drink celebration are $65, the average price for a low cost spay or neuter surgery in the area. Proceeds will benefit the Center for Animal Rescue and Adoption’s new low cost spay and neuter clinic. The clinic is expected to open in March.

With more than 35,000 animals arriving in Pima County animal shelters every year, one of the primary goals for the clinic is to help to lower shelter intake.  In addition to offering services to low income families, the clinic will focus on spay and neuter services for rescue groups and trap/neuter/return for feral cat organizations. The clinic will be based on the Humane Alliance Model. Located in Asheville, North Carolina, Humane Alliance has sterilized over 195,000 animals since it began in 1994. The Center for Animal Rescue and Adoption has been accepted as a member of their National Spay/Neuter Response Team (NSNRT). Under this mentorship program, the Center will have access to training and technical support that has helped make Humane Alliance a success.

The Center for Animal Rescue and Adoption is a Tucson grassroots organization that began in 2002. The clinic will compliment their existing rescue and adoption services and it will be the home of the Spay More Animals Clinic. Spay and Neuter Solutions was started in 2003 and provides financial assistance for spay and neuter. It also helps to educate the public about the importance of companion animal sterilization.

It is hoped that the event will bring in $10,000 for the new clinic. The champagne celebration will also feature fruits, a cash bar and coffee. A silent auction and a live string quartet will help to make the evening even more memorable. The event will begin at 7 p.m. and is scheduled to last two hours.

Visit the Center for Animal Rescue and Adoption website to purchase tickets and for additional event information. It promises to be a special evening and is one that should not be missed!
