Willie Nelson has joined the fight against dog fighting by recording a public service announcement for Best Friends Animal Society. The TV ad will begin running this week in Georgia, and, with your financial support, will continue running through the 2008 Georgia Legislative Session. In the spot, Willie Nelson encourages Georgians to support legislation that would strengthen the anti-dog fighting laws in their state.

Wanted to pass this along. I just learned that Amazon.com is selling books on dog fighting. I put in "dog fighting" in the search bar and the first one that came up was titled, "The Dog Pit - Or, How To Select, Breed, Train And Manage Fighting Dogs, With Points As To Their Care In Health And Disease". A few people protesting won't do anything but many voices can get these books off their website. At the very least tell others that Amazon is perpetuating horrible crimes against these dogs by selling books that glorify it.

I love Willie, love his music, love what he's done for the American farmers and now this...hopefully it will fall on the ears of people that can help make a change or young people whose minds are not yet twisted. The people who are actually doing it will blow it off whether they like him or not.

I have 4 shelties (all of which are Therapy Dogs). One competes with me in Agility throughout the SE. I also have a husband and two cats that tolerate the dogs. I transport rescue dogs from high kill shelters to breed shelters or adopters. When you decide you need a new bus, pass the old one on to us. Would love for you to come watch an Agility Trial. You would be AMAZED at how smart and agile our canine friends can be. Take care. Diane Greene, GA

Sadly, we continue to have a high kill rate in GA. Many of our countries still do not have animal control (except a rifle and staged fighting). Please do all you can to help us. Thanks.

With Willie Nelsom being a good ole boy. This may helpwith the people that think this isa macho sport. One can only hope.
