Petition Drive Underway!

In just about a month, the Georgia Legislature will re-convene, and the Georgia Dog Fighting Act will get its fourth chance at passage.

Some lawmakers still don't believe that a majority of their constituents would like to see the tougher law. Let's show them that you want to see those involved in dog fighting punished.

Please sign the following petition but ONLY IF YOU ARE A RESIDENT OF GEORGIA.

Be sure to include which city you live in so we can make sure the lawmakers see that there are individuals in their districts ready for change.

What if you are not a resident of Georgia, but still want to help?

If you are not a resident of Georgia, please think of anyone you may know in Georgia! If you have a My Space account, post this story as a bulletin. Do the same for Facebook! Let's spread the word across the Peach State. Just make sure to include a link for this story within anything you post!

This is a world where we are all supposed to be linked somehow right? Let's pull together to show the Georgia Lawmakers just how many people want to see this tougher law.

The results of the petition will be delivered to the Legislature once the session begins.

Wanted to pass this along. I just learned that Amazon.com is selling books on dog fighting. I put in "dog fighting" in the search bar and the first one that came up was titled, "The Dog Pit - Or, How To Select, Breed, Train And Manage Fighting Dogs, With Points As To Their Care In Health And Disease". A few people protesting won't do anything but many voices can get these books off their website. At the very least tell others that Amazon is perpetuating horrible crimes against these dogs by selling books that glorify it.

We are in critical need of a good dogfighting law here in Georgia so that those in charge can put a stop to this awaful thing that is happening her in Georgia not only the one that fight dogs but also the one that bet on dogfighting and watch also.

I am not sure that we have a specific goal. The session will begin in less than a month, and at that time the results will be presented.

Obviously as many signatures as we can get is the goal! But to be able to go in and show the peition with several thousand signatures I think would really help that send that message, so we have a ways to go!
