Strut Your Mutt Network Partner Incentives

Booth award: FREE on-site booth for team raising the most funds at each live event. (as of 2 weeks before event)
Information area representative: Space in the information tent for 10 teams at each event with the highest number of participants.
Rescue runway: Opportunity to feature one adoptable dog on stage at the Strut Your Mutt event
Top fundraiser award: $1,000 for the top fundraiser in each event. (as of the day before event)
Top overall fundraiser award: $10,000 to the team that raises the most money overall! (as of Oct 31)
Network partner 24-hour match: The first 400 donations of $100 or more between 12 midnight and 11:59 p.m. ET June 30 will receive a match of $50. 
Early sign-up incentive: $100 for the first 20 teams to complete registration and set up fundraising page.
Cash drawing: $1,000 for 9 randomly selected participants.
Flash fundraising: raise $10,000 from August 17 - 31 and win $1,000!
Double fundraising reward: $500+ if you raise double the amount this year that you raised in a previous Strut Your Mutt (46 awards).
Newbie award: $1,000 for 10 first time participants.

Booth award

  • The Network partner team raising the most funds for each live event (as of the Friday two weeks prior to the event) will win a booth on site.
  • This incentive is not applicable or available for teams participating in the virtual Strut Your Mutt, because there is no event at the conclusion of their fundraising campaign.
  • For off-line donations to be counted, they must be submitted to Best Friends by 5 p.m. ET one week prior to their city’s two-week deadline. Team captains will be provided with list of exact dates.
  • In order for online donations to count, they must be entered by 5 p.m. ET on the Friday that is two weeks prior to a city’s event.
  • In case of a tie, the group with the greater number of registered participants at 5 p.m. ET on the Friday two weeks prior to each city's event will win the booth space.
  • Team captains who have won a free booth will be notified via email by 7 p.m. ET on the Friday two weeks prior to their city’s event.

Information area representative

  • The 10 teams with the highest number of participants as of the Friday two weeks prior to their event will win an opportunity to represent their organization in the local shelter and rescue information tent.
  • Booth award winners are not eligible for award.
  • For online registrations to count, they must be entered by 5 p.m. ET on the Friday two weeks prior to a city’s event.
  • In case of a tie, the group with the highest amount raised at 5 p.m. ET on the Friday, two weeks prior to each city's event, will win the booth space.
  • Team captains who have won a representative spot will be notified via email by 7 p.m. ET on the Friday, two weeks prior to their city’s event.

Rescue Runway

  • The rescue runway gives network partners with adoptable pets the opportunity to feature one adoptable dog on stage at the Strut Your Mutt event.
  • The 10 network partner teams that raise the most money as of Friday two weeks prior to each live event will win a spot.
  • The adoptable animal featured must be a dog.
  • Only teams participating in a live event qualify. Rescue runway is not available for teams participating in the virtual Strut Your Mutt.
  • Online donations must be submitted to Best Friends by 5 p.m. Eastern time on Friday, two weeks prior to that city’s event.
  • Offline donations must be submitted to Best Friends by 5 p.m. Eastern time on Friday, three weeks prior to that city’s event in order to count.
  • In the event of a tie, the group with the greatest number of registered participants as of the online donation deadline will win the spot.
  • Team captains of the winning teams will be notified via email by 7 p.m. Eastern time on that same day.

Top fundraiser award

  • This award is given to the network partner team raising the most funds as of noon in the event city's time zone the day prior to the event. For the virtual Strut Your Mutt the winner will be determined as of 11:59 p.m. ET October 31.
  • Winners will be announced on stage at each live event. Virtual Strut Your Mutt winner will be notified via email.
  • There will be one first place cash award of $1,000 given away per event (including virtual Strut Your Mutt).
  • Only teams raising a minimum of $5,000 in gross funds will receive a trophy and monetary awards.
  • Incentive funds will be included in the winning team’s final Strut Your Mutt check.
  • For live Strut Your Mutt events, offline donation forms and corresponding check copies must be received by Best Friends no later than 5 p.m. ET, the Monday prior to the event date.
  • For virtual Strut Your Mutt, offline donation forms and corresponding check copies must be received by Best Friends no later than 5 p.m. ET, Wednesday, October 26.

Top overall fundraiser award

  • The team raising the most money overall will win $10,000.
  • Contest will conclude at 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, October 31. Winner will be notified via email no later than Wednesday, November 2.
  • Offline donation forms and corresponding check copies must be received by Best Friends no later than 5 p.m. ET,  on Wednesday, October 26.
  • If the case a tie, the final donation with the earliest time stamp will win.
  • Incentive funds will be included in the winning team’s final Strut Your Mutt check.

PAST INCENTIVES


Network partner 24-hour match

  • The first 400 donations of $100 or more between 12 midnight and 11:59 p.m. ET June 30 will receive a match of $50. 
  • One match per donor, per network partner. Each qualifying donation must come from a unique donor. 
  • There is no limit on how many matches a Network partner team can receive. 
  • Donations to network partner teams and network partner team participants are eligible for match. 
  • Winners will be informed by 5 p.m. ET Friday, July 8. 
  • Award money will be entered as offline donations from Best Friends and is not subject to transaction fees. 
  • Award money will be included in final check from Strut Your Mutt.

Network partner early sign-up incentive

  • Be one of the first 20 teams to complete the appropriate Strut Your Mutt application, return an up-to-date W-9, return a signed MOU, and set up your fundraising page by Wednesday, May 18 at 3 p.m. ET to win $100.
  • Winners will be determined by time stamps on application, W-9 and MOU emails, and page setup.
  • Winners will be informed via email by 5 p.m. ET, Wednesday, May 18
  • Donations will be added to team's fundraising page when donations open on June 6. Donations will be entered as “early sign-up winner” and are not subject to transaction fees.
  • All approved network partner teams are eligible for award.
  • Prize money will be included in final check from Strut Your Mutt.

*Registration fees count as donations and toward all incentives.  
 
NOTE: In addition to the specific rules set forth above, all incentives and awards are subject to our general rules, including our refund policy . All decisions of Best Friends Animal Society regarding incentive and award winners are final.

Network partner cash drawing

  • Nine lucky teams will be randomly selected to win $1,000 toward their team goal.
  • For each $100 the team has raised (including team donations, funds raised by participants, and offline donations) by 5 p.m. ET July 22, the team will be entered in the drawing for $1,000 prizes.
  • Winners will be notified by 5 p.m. ET July 29 via email.
  • All Network partner teams are eligible; however, teams cannot win more than one cash drawing award.  
  • Incentive funds will be added to team’s fundraising page as an offline donation titled “cash drawing winner" and will be included in online fundraising total. Funds are not subject to transaction fees.
  • Prize money will be included in final check from Strut Your Mutt.

Flash fundraising

  • Be one of the first 10 teams to raise $10,000 (in addition to what you have already raised) between 5 p.m. ET August 17 and 5 p.m. ET August 31, and your team will win an extra $1,000 toward your fundraising goal. Prize money will be included in final check from Strut Your Mutt.
  • All teams and events (including virtual Strut Your Mutt) are eligible, regardless of previous incentive awards
  • Team captains of winning teams will be notified via email by 2 p.m. ET, Thursday, September 1.
  • Registration fees are considered a donation and do count toward the $10,000 fundraising goal
  • Offline donations received by 7 p.m. ET Friday, August 26 will be counted toward goal. We cannot guarantee that offline donations submitted after August 26 will be counted.
  • Online donations must be entered by 5 p.m. ET August 31.
  • Prize money will be added as a team donation, and will be noted as a donation from Best Friends. Prize money is not subject to the required transaction fees
  • Prize money will be sent as separate check upon announcement of winners. Checks may take up to 30 days to be mailed. 

Network partner double fundraising reward

  • Double the amount your team raised during Strut Your Mutt 2015 (or your most recent Strut Your Mutt event since 2010) by 5 p.m. ET on August 31 and you could win award money.
  • If team participated in multiple events, qualifying amount will be determined based on most funds raised in single event.
  • Once the team has doubled funds raised, the team qualifies for a double fundraising reward at appropriate level.

For example, suppose that your team raised $3,000 in 2015. When your team has raised $6,000 in 2016, it qualifies to win the $1,000 reward. If your team raises $10,000 you would be qualified to win the $2,000 reward, and so on.
 
2015 (or previous event) amount doubled:
   - Between $1,000 and $4,999 wins $500 (30 awards)
   - Between $5,000 and $9,999 wins $1,000 (five awards)
   - Between $10,000 and $19,999 wins $2,000 (five awards)
   - Between $20,000 and $49,999 wins $3,000 (five awards)
   - $50,000 or more wins $5,000 (one award)

  • Total from most recent event is the total donations from online, offline, award money and day-of-event donations.
  • To check total funds raised during 2015 (or most recent event since 2010) please email networkpartnerevents@bestfriends.org.
  • Random drawing winners will be notified via email by 2 p.m. ET September 12.
  • Award money will be entered as an offline donation from Best Friends and included in fundraising totals. Funds are not subject to transaction fees.
  • Award check will be mailed upon the announcement of winners. Prize money will not be included in final check from Strut Your Mutt.

Newbie award

  • Ten groups that have never participated in Strut Your Mutt (or have not participated since 2010) will win $1,000 for raising at least $2,500 by 5 p.m. ET August 31.
  • Winners will be determined by random drawing of qualified teams.  
  • To verify that a network partner has either never participated in Strut Your Mutt or has not participated since 2010, please email networkpartnerevents@bestfriends.org
  • Random drawing winners will be notified via email by 2 p.m. ET September 12.
  • Award money will be entered as offline donations from Best Friends and included in fundraising totals. Funds are not subject to transaction fees. 
  • Award money will be included in final check from Strut Your Mutt.
