Help CT woman find secure temporary housing for 15 feral cats in danger of being euthanized

A town zoning order, to be issued this evening, may leave 15 feral cats in danger of being destroyed.
Holly Harris, who has dedicated her life to saving animals in need, with no financial assistance from anyone, has fallen behind on her $2,500 per month rent. Harris, who rents a barn in East Granby, CT. for her and her animals, says she had an agreement to rent the apartment in the upper part of the barn for herself, and the lower portion would house her animals. Unfortunately, inadequate heating forced Harris to spend money she hadn’t planned on spending and she fell behind on her rent. Town officials learned of the situation and, since the property is not zoned for animal rescue, are about to issue a cease and desist order this evening leaving her animals in danger of being euthanized.
Since the plea was broadcast on local television stations, Harris has been able to place many of her cats. Eleven of them went to the Connecticut Humane Society and a Stafford vet office is offering to try and adopt out the 5 remaining friendly, domesticated cats. She may also have placement for the 3 semi-ferals. Harris says East Granby Animal Control officer Linda Rosetti has been so incredibly helpful. “She’s done everything she can to help”, says Harris, including offering to transport the cats to their new homes.
“What I need now” Harris tearfully says, “is someone willing to offer a secure place to temporarily house my 15 feral cats”. “It’s not for me, none of it is for me, it’s all for the animals” she says.
If you can help Holly Harris and the cats, please contact her at (860) 371-9496. Time is of the essence as the order may be issued this evening. If that happens, the order will be effective tomorrow morning at which time the cats may be destroyed.
