Visitors to the shop can find bargains and help animals!
Animal Rescue of the Rockies opened the door of its thrift shop, aptly named “For Pet’s Sake”, in March 2007. Visitors strolling on Main St. in Breckenridge, CO seem happy to find a lower cost shopping option. Locals are regularly making donations and say that they love to support the cause – rescuing homeless pets! The shop’s first year was very successful, bringing in funds that allowed A.R.R. to rescue a number of animals, paying for their medical needs and finding them forever homes. Now, A.R.R. is working to save funds for a no-kill sanctuary in near-by Park County where price tags for real estate are not as high as in Summit County. Volunteers and board members volunteer their time at the shop, keeping the business up and running. If you are in the area, stop by and say “hi” and check out all the great clothing and house wares!
