One exciting aspect of the Expo is the presence of several horse rescue groups. Come by to visit and also enjoy the many exhibitions, clinics, and learning opportunities.
March 14 – 16 at the National Western Complex (Denver)
May 30 – June 1 at the Eagle County Fairgrounds (Vail)
September 19 – 21 at Sky Ute Events Center (Ignacio)
Be sure to stop by the booths of several important participants including:
Horse Protection LeagueThis Golden/Arvada-based operation aids in the welfare of equines in need and have a variety of horses and ponies, some even well-trained, available for adoption.
Colorado Horse RescueCHR is scheduled to bring a horse to be adopted to the Expo! This organization assists abused, neglected and unwanted horses. Visitors are welcome to the Longmont location, please call to schedule an appointment.

These organizations are always looking for volunteers as well as donations of time and needed supplies.
The Unwanted Horse Coalition is featured on the Expo website, and Dr. Tom Lenz, chairman of the Coalition, is slated to speak about their “Own Responsibly” campaign. This nationwide alliance aims to reduce the number of unwanted horses through education, among other means. They also provide a list of resources, including those in our state, who can help horses in danger of being homeless. Click
