TNR'd Ferals Slated for Trap and Kill Need Your Voice
Posted by Susan A. Robinson, Best Friends NetworkThis is an email I recieved from Elena Johnson, Volunteer Outreach Coordinator for Alley Cat Allies:
"I wanted to get back to you about a situation we are dealing with in VA. The Meadows of Chantilly is a community at which we have spayed/neutered over 200 cats. After cooperating and collaborating with us in the past, the management company has decided to have all of the cats trapped and killed. Please find more details on this situation on our website:
Alley Cat AlliesWhat I’m hoping is that you can help get the word out. We have an option online for people to send a letter to
Equity LifeStyle Properties in opposition of their plan to trap and kill the cats. We would like to get as many people to send a letter to the management company as possible. We would especially like to get
people in Chicago to send a letter. The corporate offices are in Chicago and they are currently shying away from the bad press, so if they are getting local pressure, hopefully they will respond and work with us!"

On Monday residents of the Meadows of Chantilly, a community in Fairfax County, Virginia, came home to find a letter stating that their property management company, Equity LifeStyle, had hired a pest control company to trap and kill the cats, most already spayed and neutered, residing on the property.
