I think that we all need to write/e-mail/fax the State's Attorney, to encourage her to give them the maximum sentence allowed by law.

These guys won't do too well in jail. Even criminals don't like animal abusers. May they rot there.

I am glad to hear this. Recently in Riverside California an Assistant Fire Chief went on trial for beating to death a 6 month old puppy belonging to a neighbor. That too took around a year to finally get to trial. The jury found Glynn Johnson guilty of felony animal cruelty with a deadly weapon. He is to be sentenced on April 2nd 2010. Do you know if there is a site we can access the daily minutes of the court proceedings?

TREMAYNE AND TRAVERS JOHNSON TRIALS FOR VIOLATION OF THE ANIMAL ABUSE LAWS AND POSSESSION OF FIREARMS ARE SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY, MARCH 22, 2010

Baltimore, MD – March 19, 2010 – The animal abuse and firearm possession trials of Tremayne and Travers Johnson, 18, of S. Pulaski Street are scheduled for 9:30AM Monday, March 22, 2010 before Judge Lynn K. Stewart, 430 Courthouse East, 111 N. Calvert Street.

The Baltimore City Grand Jury indicted Tremayne and Travers Johnson November 13, 2009 for violation of animal abuse laws and July 10, 2009 for illegal possession of a firearm.

Court documents allege that on May 27, 2009 Tremayne and Travers Johnson were responsible for setting a pit bull dog on fire in the 1600 block of Presbury Street. Police responding to a call in that block discovered a pit bull dog engulfed in flames. The dog affectionately named Phoenix was put down due to injuries while being cared for at an animal shelter in Pennsylvania. It is also alleged CCTV camera footage in the area captured the two brothers leaving the area where the dog was burned. Court documents also allege police recovered a firearm at their residence during the execution of a search and seizure warrant in June 2009 as part of an ongoing investigation.

Both Johnson brothers are being held at the Baltimore City Detention Center without bail.

Assistant State’s Attorney Jennifer Rallo will prosecute this case.

So, am I reading this correctly...this girl is currently in a back yard that is believed to have been abandoned and Phyllis is feeding over the gate? Awful!

If this is the case, she needs to also contact the Police first as well as Arizona Humane Society & report this as cruel abandonment ... IT IS AGAINST THE LAW!!

Anyway, my point was to respondto you...As far as I know, the original person in possession IS getting the emails you send with all the rescues on the list (thanks so much for that BY THE WAY AGAIN), it is greatly appreciated!!

Just wanted to respond and thank you and let you know that I live in NJ so I am just doing the posting I haven't actually had the pleasures of meeting or knowing any of these poor babies (dogs) I write about, but I will do everything I can to ensure the delivery of the list to the owner/possessors of those dogs!

Aloha All:

When someone gets information from some one else who is not able to post to Network and their email is given, have they been emailed a list of all the pit bull rescues and if the animal is ill or needs medical attention the list of websites for this? This way the person with possession of the animal can begin contacting rescues etc in their immediate areas. I have posted them in the forums at pit Bull Campaign forum and in AZ Go local as so many have been located there recently and will continue to post to Go locals that have pitties in need. This just gets the persons in possession more information immediately as we all get the word out from here. just checking to see if it is happening as they are posting email contacts so we can email them. Keep up you valiant efforts to help animals in need.

Helping Orphan Hounds will be going there today to assess him and 2 other dogs, BUT they won't be able to take him without having a foster home. Is there anyone in this area that can step up to the plate and foster this poor little guy???????

The help is there, they just need more foster carers!!!!!

Hi Folks:

I spent some time over the past few days speaking with my State Senator and my House Representative, as well as the office of the house rep who sponsored the bill (needless to say Thurston's office was not receptive to my comments).

After speaking with Rep. Steinberg (my rep) and Senator Gelber's legislative aid, they are of the opinion that since the bill in the house has not been heard in committee yet, and next week is the last time to be heard in committee, the bill will not make it this session. Nonetheless, we must stay dedicated to quashing this legislation. This is the fourth attempt by Rep. Thurston to get this bill through the house/senate.

Let us all keep up the good and noble work out there, showing the world that the breed is not the problem, bad people are the problem.

Harley is 5-6 yrs old. He is located in Apache Junction, Animal Control Center, in Arizona, he was brought in as a stray. Harley is good with other dogs, he is a very mellow dog but he has very bad allergies and sadly has been there for a long time. Unfortunately, his time is quickly coming to an end because they can't hold him there any longer.

Can someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE find it in their heart to save this poor, gentle boy's life?? He just wants/needs a safe, warm loving home to call his own and a human to love him and one that he can love too. He has such soulful eyes, I'm sure if he could, he would have some stories to tell us and he would surely make the perfect companion or addition to your family!
