I also received the following update from her foster:
VCA called to let me know the results of the culture they sent out. Peony has a very resistant strain of an infection so they are suggesting another antibiotic that has to be compounded because she is so small: 1.15 1/2 ozs
Segreti's Pharmacy in Oak Park is compounding it and will send it to VCA Bewryn for me to pick it up tonight. It is about $40.
I am also supposed to be bathing her tail in an antiseptic solution chlorhexidine (that we have here).
She is eating, pooping, playing, grooming her hoodie, etc.
Still bleeds a bit if I am not diligent about the bathing, lubricant and vaseline - needs to be 4-5x a day. She still leaves a poop trail. And she is starting to dislike all of the attention to her hindquarters - who can blame her.
