Last night it was clear something was off with Peony - she wasn't eating much, had thrown up some and had diarrhea all over the dog kennel. I had to give her another booty bath because the lower half of her body was just drenched in diarrhea - the smell was gag inducing! While giving her a booty...

This morning I was pondering what I could post today - hmm, I was thinking of a miscellaneous type post with a picture of Sam and Smudgy (almost caught them cuddling), or a cute picture of Fred lounging in my yard.....but then I left for work.... .....and found a kitten!!! (...about 1 mile from my house...

I am starting to think that all this cuteness helps heal some of the heartache. Paulie is feeling much better - he's back to running around, playing, nonstop kitten antics. ...and he enjoys chilling with Scruffy. ....and playing with Scruffy ...and letting Scruffy clean him

Paulie the kitten had a temperature of 104 yesterday. PAWS gave me some antibiotics for him, he's still eating, but lethargic. A lethargic kitten is a sad thing! Of course Nurse Scruffy is taking good care of Paulie. Click on picture above to view video or go to; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j8RbexRfPs

Pictures of the Cook County jail are far and few between - all the pics of the facility I have been posting have been found on Google searches. I am really bummed to not be able to take pictures of the cats on the compound - there have been some really great shots...especially officers helping out!!...

Paulie still likes to sleep in his bowl. This kitten has very short term memory ( injury from the Wolfy incident? ) Paulie will be my best friend, then a few horus later he's hissy again. I have to make him into a burrito kitty (wrap him in a towel, completely swaddeled and carry him around)....then...

Last night was our first night of trapping at the Cook County Jail. We were met by a chief and captain, along with two cat loving officers (who volunteered on their day off) that have been helping the cats over the past 20 years!! We were all given temporary id passes that said "YARDS ONLY"...

Nala (kitten) and I were guests on the CAN TV PAWS Chicago Hotline 21 show. CAN TV is a public access television station. Here is a snippet of the show...(i say " uhmmm " too much) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1MqfvB0_Y4

The kitten pictured above is at PAWS Chicago, she has been named Berry. Remember the story I told about the night of laughing and trapping?....here is Paul's version: ...and please don't laugh too hard at the pictures of me. Article 1 http://ourhumanenation.com/pet-overpopulation/outdoor-cats...

Ezra meets Scruffy - I love huffy puffy tails! My vet has put me in touch with the manager of PetSmart adoptions (at a Chicagoland PetSmart). She's been adopting out cats for the past 12 years. This particular PetSmart has a smaller than usual adoption area, but it has always looked clean and well...

Last night we took Paul Berry trapping with us to the Kitten Warehouse. Miguel spotted this kitten and mom in the gangway....as he blocked one end of the gangway, I jumped the fence to block the other side (Paul got a picture of that)....then the kitten made it past Miguel and ran into another gangway...
