While we didn't adopt anyone out at our monthly adoption day, it wasn't for lack of trying! Our volunteers turned out in force, Terri being among them. She took all these wonderful pictures for us! We did get quite a few people who are interested in our very young fosters who aren't quite...

First of all - Samantha was adopted (again)!!! I have really good feelings about this one. I'm going to be following up later today, and I hope all goes well. Alden was adopted a few weeks ago, but he remains very shy (as in hissy) and elusive (as in hiding under the bed). So Marguerite and I will...

In total we pulled 28 kittens from that project! 6 adult cats produced 28 kittens!! The caretaker said that of those 6 adult cats, 4 were sibling kittens from the year before... I don't have an update for all 28...they all went to PAWS Chicago, and many are in foster, some may have been adopted already...

Poor Virginia. She's still feeling under the weather, but she continues to slowly improve. I'll call the vet today and give her some more fluids this evening, and that should make her feel lots better! She was running a low fever this morning, but she continues to eat and take all her meds like...

I am starting to think that all this cuteness helps heal some of the heartache. Paulie is feeling much better - he's back to running around, playing, nonstop kitten antics. ...and he enjoys chilling with Scruffy. ....and playing with Scruffy ...and letting Scruffy clean him

Paulie the kitten had a temperature of 104 yesterday. PAWS gave me some antibiotics for him, he's still eating, but lethargic. A lethargic kitten is a sad thing! Of course Nurse Scruffy is taking good care of Paulie. Click on picture above to view video or go to; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j8RbexRfPs

Paulie still likes to sleep in his bowl. This kitten has very short term memory ( injury from the Wolfy incident? ) Paulie will be my best friend, then a few horus later he's hissy again. I have to make him into a burrito kitty (wrap him in a towel, completely swaddeled and carry him around)....then...

Last night was our first night of trapping at the Cook County Jail. We were met by a chief and captain, along with two cat loving officers (who volunteered on their day off) that have been helping the cats over the past 20 years!! We were all given temporary id passes that said "YARDS ONLY"...

OK, so I almost skipped breakfast to stay with this affection-dependant queen... and I put the training pad plus a blanket on my knees, and Nirta spent hours and hours on my knees... I seriously thought she'd give birth on my knees... I couldn't believe how long it was taking her... And I was...

Sometimes I go with my friend, Marguerite, to feed her ferals. The small colonies are constantly managed, unsterilized females trapped, spayed, and either returned or relocated. Same for the tomcats. The babies we trap, and we tame the ones we can. Those get adopted, and the others are kept until they...

Ezra meets Scruffy - I love huffy puffy tails! My vet has put me in touch with the manager of PetSmart adoptions (at a Chicagoland PetSmart). She's been adopting out cats for the past 12 years. This particular PetSmart has a smaller than usual adoption area, but it has always looked clean and well...

You can follow me on twitter at; http://www.twitter.com/blootails I tweeted as I trapped last night, but becasue the network was down i couldn't post a message letting everyone know.... Well, of all the trapping I have done I have never laughed so hard throughout. Jumping fences, Paul Berry giving...

Last night we took Paul Berry trapping with us to the Kitten Warehouse. Miguel spotted this kitten and mom in the gangway....as he blocked one end of the gangway, I jumped the fence to block the other side (Paul got a picture of that)....then the kitten made it past Miguel and ran into another gangway...
