Remember Moby? It's rare I get an update about a cat I turn over to PAWS - but every so often one comes through and of course I LOVE IT! I am so bummed about this new blog format because my old entries don't have pictures....but if you look back to end of March 2009 - That is when we scooped...

Peony suddenly has a hearty appetite and was meowing (screaming) for more food this morning! WOW! What a turn around! She must also feel a heck of a lot better cause she's moving around, the toys were all scattered so she must have even played last night!!! When Frank walked into her room (mudroom...

Peony is now eating on her own again. I was force feeding her with the syringe - giving her kitten formula and watered A/D...I also leave some wet food out for her to eat on her own if she wants and last night she did! She ate about 1/4 can A/D! Yay!!! She is not using the ltiterbox though, and still...

Eleanor's foster mom met me at PAWS Chicago this morning for Eleanor's spay appointment! Eleanor was a bit nervous this morning... ...but she still wanted to play with all the doggies she saw in the waiting room. The vet saw her and said she looked like a 12 week old puppy, healthy and happy...

In total we pulled 28 kittens from that project! 6 adult cats produced 28 kittens!! The caretaker said that of those 6 adult cats, 4 were sibling kittens from the year before... I don't have an update for all 28...they all went to PAWS Chicago, and many are in foster, some may have been adopted already...

I am starting to think that all this cuteness helps heal some of the heartache. Paulie is feeling much better - he's back to running around, playing, nonstop kitten antics. ...and he enjoys chilling with Scruffy. ....and playing with Scruffy ...and letting Scruffy clean him

If you were driving down a fairly busy street, with lots of traffic, and saw a pittie puppy running along side the cars on the street, what would you do? Well, if you lived in my neighborhood chances are you'd just drive past, not even notice, or notice and not care... but I am incapable of that...

Fred is a girl cat, we fixed her a while back...she was one of the staples in the crack house next door. Once that place was boarded up she found her way back in via an attic window. She comes for food regularly, but lately she's been hanging around for more than just food...her and Nico have become...

The Cook County Jail compound is located in the middle of a chicago neighborhood!! There are houses across the street, a nursing home, restaurants...it's right in the middle of a neighborhood. I suspect cats made it onto the jail compound, then realized how good life there is and stayed...but do...

Paulie the kitten had a temperature of 104 yesterday. PAWS gave me some antibiotics for him, he's still eating, but lethargic. A lethargic kitten is a sad thing! Of course Nurse Scruffy is taking good care of Paulie. Click on picture above to view video or go to; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j8RbexRfPs

Pictures of the Cook County jail are far and few between - all the pics of the facility I have been posting have been found on Google searches. I am really bummed to not be able to take pictures of the cats on the compound - there have been some really great shots...especially officers helping out!!...

As posted in my previous post, we trapped 9 cats the first night at the Cook County jail compound. We returned yesterday with the 9 cats that had spay/neuter surgery and to trap more. Of the 9 cats, 7 of them were female, 2 were males. I am so happy we got so many females! Upon arrival we settled the...

Paulie still likes to sleep in his bowl. This kitten has very short term memory ( injury from the Wolfy incident? ) Paulie will be my best friend, then a few horus later he's hissy again. I have to make him into a burrito kitty (wrap him in a towel, completely swaddeled and carry him around)....then...

Yesterday, I received a call from a complete stanger who said she had a cat tree that her cat never uses, it's new, only a month old. She reads my blog and wanted to know if I wanted it, specifically, if Sam would like it. Heck yea! I picked up the cat tree, very nice too! It has as sisal & cardboard...

Last night was our first night of trapping at the Cook County Jail. We were met by a chief and captain, along with two cat loving officers (who volunteered on their day off) that have been helping the cats over the past 20 years!! We were all given temporary id passes that said "YARDS ONLY"...
