This morning I was pondering what I could post today - hmm, I was thinking of a miscellaneous type post with a picture of Sam and Smudgy (almost caught them cuddling), or a cute picture of Fred lounging in my yard.....but then I left for work.... .....and found a kitten!!! (...about 1 mile from my house...

I am starting to think that all this cuteness helps heal some of the heartache. Paulie is feeling much better - he's back to running around, playing, nonstop kitten antics. ...and he enjoys chilling with Scruffy. ....and playing with Scruffy ...and letting Scruffy clean him

Biggie, shot with BB gun On Friday morning I received a call from one of my feeders that one of my (our) ferals was shot with a BB gun. As the morning progresses I got more updates, "he's laying under a car, I think he's dead"..."I picked him up he's just limp"....."he's...

Fred is a girl cat, we fixed her a while back...she was one of the staples in the crack house next door. Once that place was boarded up she found her way back in via an attic window. She comes for food regularly, but lately she's been hanging around for more than just food...her and Nico have become...

Paulie the kitten had a temperature of 104 yesterday. PAWS gave me some antibiotics for him, he's still eating, but lethargic. A lethargic kitten is a sad thing! Of course Nurse Scruffy is taking good care of Paulie. Click on picture above to view video or go to; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j8RbexRfPs

As posted in my previous post, we trapped 9 cats the first night at the Cook County jail compound. We returned yesterday with the 9 cats that had spay/neuter surgery and to trap more. Of the 9 cats, 7 of them were female, 2 were males. I am so happy we got so many females! Upon arrival we settled the...

Yesterday, I received a call from a complete stanger who said she had a cat tree that her cat never uses, it's new, only a month old. She reads my blog and wanted to know if I wanted it, specifically, if Sam would like it. Heck yea! I picked up the cat tree, very nice too! It has as sisal & cardboard...

Last night was our first night of trapping at the Cook County Jail. We were met by a chief and captain, along with two cat loving officers (who volunteered on their day off) that have been helping the cats over the past 20 years!! We were all given temporary id passes that said "YARDS ONLY"...

Ezra meets Scruffy - I love huffy puffy tails! My vet has put me in touch with the manager of PetSmart adoptions (at a Chicagoland PetSmart). She's been adopting out cats for the past 12 years. This particular PetSmart has a smaller than usual adoption area, but it has always looked clean and well...
