A lot has happened since I found Rose on Aug. 21st. My neighbor had agreed to keep her until I found a place to move. Two months later she decided that she did not care if I found a place to live or not she wanted to keep Rose for herself. I felt so upset, sad and betrayed by the foster. I had been paying for all of Roses vet cost and my neighbor took care of food and water. I walked her twice daily on week days and took her to the dog park on weekends. She seemed to love Pepe. I even got Rose a tag with my phone number on it. Rose only spent one weekend in my apartment. The apartment building has strict rules about pets, "one four legged animal per unit". My neighbor does not want me to even see Rose because she wants Rose to stop waiting at the gate for me to come and get her for our daily walks. She wants Rose to get used to the fact that she is her owner. After not seeing Rose for two weeks someone called me on my cell saying we found your dog. Rose had escaped and was one block away from my house. Was she looking for me? I don't know. I went to get her and we were so happy to see each other. I took her back to my neighbors house and she escaped again five hours later. My neighbor said it is becasue she is in heat and I begged her to get Rose spayed. She said she was waiting for a sale at the vets office. Aparently they have 25.00 off sales from time to time. Rose was getting out with this little dog that lived three doors down. This poor little guy ended up being fatally hit by a car the last time they escaped together. II called my neighbor and left her a message about this and got no response. She never answers my calls or returns my messages. I had been talking to other friends about this and they believe that I should have my number removed from Rose's tags so if she gets out again and picked up by animal control I won't be stuck with the fines for a dog that I can not even spend time with and that is not even mine any more. I am happy that Rose has a place to live with another dog (16 year old chow mix) that she likes since I can't keep her in my apartment. I just wish I could at least take her on walks still.
