Yesterday was a beautiful day. I dropped a cheesecake (Baileys Irish Cream White Chocolate) at the Welcome Center - Happy Birthday Mary!, and then off to Kitty Motel. By the way - Kitty Motel has a wonderful new PAGE on Facebook. DO become a fan, I'd love to see the numbers of fans go through the proverbial roof!
Anyway, I loved on the lobby cats, Mystery & Tiger Tim in particular. Mystery is a Pahrump girl, who is a stunning dilute tortie, a 4 paw declaw and has not a tooth in her head. Very petite, somewhat feisty, and a lover, all at the same time. Torties! Tiger Tim is a very shy, beautiful tabby, missing an eye, with a very powerful head bonk.
Finally make it into Room 5, and settle myself outside. And the herd descends upon me. Cozze, Parke, Honeybear, and on the outskirts of the semi-circle is Baby, looking at me with those angelic, enormous eyes. SHE knows the rules, she gets first crack at my lap, so I gently nudge everyone away so Baby can get to me and VROOM! she scrambles into my lap. Have I ever mentioned that Baby only weighs about 4 1/2 pounds? And while it would be SO much easier for me to pick her up and place her in my lap - no, that is NOT her style, she can get in my lap all by herself, thank you very much.
We have a great read, Newt & Smokey Too are having a snooze on a nearby tote, Skitters comes out and gets in a cubby, and Max is sound asleep, partially on the cement floor, and partially draped across the base of one of the tree ramps. It doesn't seem possible that he can be comfortable, but apparently he is.
Nancy - caregiver extraordinaire, has now finished with the inside room, so I get up - with Baby, and move inside. Of course, Baby being Baby, the minute I sit back down she starts to grumble, and then gets up for a snack. After the amount of work I put in in trying to gently get her from the outside to the inside! Oh well. Honeybear makes a brief appearance on my lap, and Skitters thinks about it, but Nancy comes in with two clean litterboxes, and that's just too scary for Skitters, so back up into a cubby for him.
I think I have 2 chapters left in Book 4, and then we're done with that one! I won't be up for my reading this coming week, Mark & I are going to Vegas for the weekend. I MAY be able to finish the book the week after, and if not, certainly the week after that.
And on to Book 5!
