Home comings and goings
Got back from ARK on Monday (pictures from our visit...), just in time for my classes. Have been running ever since...Chobi came back from the clinic on Tuesday. She's doing much better, as she isn't as drippy, but she still has problems digesting her food. The vet said that there is no evidence of parasites or bacteria whatsoever, but that she has some kind of digestive disorder. We're to feed her a limited amount, as it's the only way for her to process it adequately. However, she wants more than the specified amount, so it's been hard for us to see her hungry. The plan is to help her put on weight slowly and to get used to digesting small amounts of food (Science Diet AD) throughout the day. We're keeping her in a cage in the bedroom, so that we can monitor her progress more closely. Frequent play sessions out on the bed, while I'm working at the computer. She seems more active today, and pounced on my fingers while I was typing! She's now curled up in one of my arms chewing on my fingers. Recent Chobi pics...

Trying to work out the Tokyo trip, and new adoptions this month. There is a long holiday coming up this weekend, but it's a bit soon to finalize some of the adoptions we're currently processing, so will have to wait and see what we can work out. A lovely family adopted Koko, and picked him up from his very kind foster family this past weekend--looking forward to pictures from his new home soon. This afternoon, I had a nice talk with a new foster care volunteer out in our area. She's able to start out right away, by helping one of our other foster care volunteers, who'll be going on vacation. The timing was perfect, which is always nice! Lots of organizational things to work on this week--issues with the phones, and the website. Hoping for the same kind of serendipity to continue.

The cat areas at ARK look fabulous....what a gorgeous Siamese looking kitty in the picture by the window! All the kittys look plump and happy...It looks like a wonderful shelter....

Poor little Chobi. I hope she stays on the mend! I don't remember...did they do an ultrasound to see if everything is where it needs to be? She is just sooo cute....I hope she gets a chance at a forever home. You are doing a wonderful job with her. A chance she probably would not have otherwise....

I'm not sure what all they did at the emergency clinic (I imagine I'll find out when we get the bill!), but whatever they did it seems to have worked. Her poops are looking great, and she has an amazing amount of energy. We're still supposed to be limiting her daily food intake, which we are doing our best to stick to, but it's hard to do with her acting so normal. Will have to go back again to consult with the vet about it, soon.
