Hundreds of people visit shelter to adopt dogs
The Humane Society of Southern Arizona is “extremely grateful for the community's huge outpouring of support in response to the recent dog rescue,” according to their website. With more visitors than ever expected, they are happy to report that all dogs involved with the rescue have been adopted. However, the rescued birds still need treatment and are not up for adoption yet.
After news broke of the rescue of nearly 800 animals in Avra Valley last week, hundreds of people showed up at the HSSA shelter, resulting in an early close of the shelter due to the crowds. The following day, 500 people returned, and the HSSA limited the groups to 100 people per day.
The shelter still has many animals up for adoption and they can be visited during normal hours. Check out
