Have some fun and help pets this weekend!
Posted by: Daphne Grace, Best Friends Network Volunteer Scottsdale’s WestWorld will be hosting AZ PetFest '08 this Saturday and Sunday, March 15th and 16th, 10 am to 5 pm.
Many local animal welfare groups will be in attendance, including Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s MASH unit. The MASH unit rehabilitates and adopts out animals that have been seized as part of animal cruelty investigations. Several other general and breed-specific rescue groups will be there with adoptable pets, as well as vendors for pet foods, resorts, supplies, and of course, toys! If you cannot adopt a pet donations will be gladly accepted.
There will be a fashion show for the trendsetting pet, and as well as flyball, agility, dock jumping, and a 4-H obedience event. Reptile enthusiasts can visit the Phoenix Herpetological Society booth to learn more about their scaly friends, and see an 8-foot-long alligator, 220 lb. python, and a 5-foot-long water monitor.
Admission to PetFest is $10, or $8 with a food donation. WestWorld charges $5 for parking.
