Diane Young, specialist

I have been working with Best Friends since the summer of 1997. I was a town clerk in a small Utah town and worked with Best Friends finding homes for the town kittens. I volunteered some, and then started working part-time on the switchboard in the morning, and then in Dogtown or Cat World in the afternoons. The staff was small and everyone who worked there did several jobs, filling in where needed. I learned so much.
What I enjoy most about being a specialist is working with other groups to share ideas and resources about helping as many animals as possible to find good homes and have wonderful lives. Networking with partners is so valuable to all of us. We share ideas, suggestions and help each other with questions.
My home is graced with a variety of cats, dogs and turtles. It is a lively place that is full of love.
