Animal rescue groups, animal rights groups and concerned citizens from across the state are gathering in one spot to let Indiana know that we will no longer sit idly by and allow puppy mill dogs to suffer, and sometimes die, from neglect and abuse.

Animal rescue groups, animal rights groups and concerned citizens from across the state are gathering in one spot to let Indiana know that we will no longer sit idly by and allow puppy mill dogs to suffer, and sometimes die, from neglect and abuse.
Indiana currently has no laws regulating the conditions of puppy mills, and as a result Indiana has one of the largest concentrations of puppy mills in the nation. Thousands of dogs are forced to live their entire lives in tiny, wire cages with no exercise. They are malnourished, dehydrated, living in extreme hot and cold conditions, and they receive no medical care.
February 10th the second Defend The Dogs Rally will be held. The last rally was held in July 2008. Concerned dog advocates will weather the cold conditions, knowing that puppy mill dogs many times have no protection from extreme temperatures and are suffering all across the state.
This rally in being held in conjunction with the Indiana Humane Lobby Day, sponsored by the Humane Society of the United States. Appointments will be arranged for constituents to speak to their legislators about bills pending at the statehouse on humane issues in Indiana.
This rally will be held Tuesday, February 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the steps of the Indiana Statehouse.

Please join animal lovers and humane people from all over the state as we peacefully gather on the east steps of the statehouse to draw attention to the puppy mill problem in the state of Indiana. It’s time to put a stop to the horrors these animals endure at the hands of those only concerned with turning a profit.
NO DOGS PLEASE!
