On Saturday January 17th, Sula Foundation will present the first annual Pit Bull-ennial (aka PB.1), featuring a select exhibition of pit bull art, including work by painter Sandy Chism and photographer Traer Scott. The event will also feature adoptable pit bulls, including Dudley Do Right, Nana, Hugh, and young littermates Lucinda and Rosanne. If you can volunteer in setting up this event, we'd love to have your help.

Date: Saturday January 17
Time: 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Place: Canine Culture
8110 Hampson Street
New Orleans, Louisiana

Our 2009 Pit Bulls of New Orleans Calendar continues to do well, particularly outside of New Orleans. If you haven't picked up a copy yet, be sure to get one, now available at Canine Connection, Canine Culture, Belladonna, Zeus' Place, Fair Grinds, Petcetera and online at Amazon and, of course, www.sulafoundation.org.

Thanks to everyone who has written with concerns regarding pit bulls in New Orleans. We have some exciting plans coming up, including a poster campaign. However, we are always short on the volunteers necessarily to effectively implement these programs. So, if you can help out, please do let us know.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

• Come by Canine Culture on Saturday for the Pit Bull-ennial. It is sure to be a fun time, plus you will get the chance to meet some very loving (and adoptable) dogs, including Hugh who is pictured above.

• If you can help volunteer, want to help, or are interested in adopting, please contact sulafoundation@gmail.com.
