On December 13th , more then 600 dogs and 3000 humans descended upon the normally quiet streets of Mt. Adams in Cincinnati, Ohio. Most all of them were dressed in handmade whimsical costumes as they joyfully in spirit of the season marched the streets. Onlookers cheered their favorites and loved ones, it goes without saying that the crazier and wilder the costume the more enthusiastic the crowds.
This year the job of Grand Marshall was split between Clifford the Big Red Dog and Commissioner David Pepper.
The record crowd in attendance and unseasonably warm afternoon bought out local families making this event not only a huge fund raiser for the SPCA but also has been voted “The best family event”, in Cincinnati.
Proceeds from the parade go to the Cincinnati Society for the Prevention of Cruelty for Animals. Last year, the parade raised $7,500, said event co-chair Sandy Zimmerman.
This year the parade’s main sponsor was PetSuites, pet resorts and spas.
