Now is the time to take action
Petland stores across the country sell thousands of puppies every year. They swear the puppies come from “reputable breeders,” no matter how many times and how many different ways they are asked. If by “reputable breeders,” Petland means large kennels with multiple USDA violations, hundreds of dogs kept in rabbit hutch-type cages, and many, many reports of sick puppies sold then yes, that’s true.
HSUS released an exposé on Petland stores today, after months of investigations and researching where nearly 17,000 puppies sold in Petland stores really came from. The breeders are anything but reputable.
Petland stores are a slap in the face to everyone who is aware of puppy mills, not to mention the millions of dogs (many purebred) killed in shelters because no one wants them. We all know that puppy-selling stores like Petland are the fast track for commercial dog breeders, or puppy mills, to sell mass numbers of puppies to unsuspecting customers, despite their denial of this fact.
Now is the time to speak out and take action!
