Rio, a rescued Lab Mix from Chicago Ridge Animal Welfare , is busy with his own election this year. He has made it to the finals to be THE dog pictured on the Milkbone box in celebration of their 100 year anniversary!

Owners, Tony and Amy are Best Friends Network members and are counting on our support. They are also hoping that if a rescued shelter dog graced the Milkbone box, it would increase awareness of the importance of adopting homeless pets.

He needs YOUR vote to win. Please take a brief moment to vote at this site: http://milkbone.icmodus.com/?id=362.
You can vote as often as you would like. The contest ends November 18th, 2008.

You can also visit Rio's own website for more up to date information on the election at:

I just voted, which is really easy once you've registered. Then you can vote daily.

Good luck Rio and thanks for helping to spread the message of rescue dogs.
