For those of you who do not remember the story of "Fidel", whose name is now "Paquito", you can read it below this story.
Fidel has left behind forever the Physical Education center at the Armada, the " animal loving" gardener, and also all of us at Kimba who loved him.
From the United States he sends greetings and loving kisses to everyone who loved him and cared for him. Being the sweet dog that he is, he holds no resentment, and therefore sends greetings also to those who abandoned him, beat him and treated him like garbage (but he'd just as soon keep those people as far away as possible).
Fidel/Paquito will now be spending a good part of the year in the beautiful resort town of Greer, which is located in the White Mountains of northern Arizona. There he will have his own luxury hotel, since his new father is the owner of a beautiful mountain lodge there. The other part of the year, while the lodge is closed, Paquito will enjoy life in Tucson, Arizona, where his new father has his second home.
Thanks to our friends Michael and Salva, a poor little abused Spanish dog has been able to see the American Dream become a reality for him. Salva flew from Jerez airport on a 24 hour journey with Paquito, having layovers in three cities. Paquito is just the right size that he was able to fly in the cabin of the plane with Salva, and thus did not have to endure that long journey in the cargo area. Salva tells us that Paquito was the star attraction at the airports in both Madrid and Chicago during their layovers, and that everyone made a big fuss over him wanting to pet him. They arrived exhausted to the airport in Tucson, Arizona, where Michael was waiting for them. After a few days of readjustment and meeting all kinds of new friends, both human and non human, Paquito met his new father, Pat. Since then, Pat has sent a few emails letting us know how things were going. The last email said, "This is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever known. WE LOVE HIM!!"

THE STORY OF HIS RESCUE
The Little Dog from the Physical Education Center at the Armada
We have had this little dog at Kimba for the past few days. He was rescued from being thrown into a rubbish skip (dumpster) by the gardener at the Physical Education center at the Armada in San Fernando (Cádiz).
According to the version of one of the members of the sports facility at the Armada, the gardener of the installation attempted to trap the little dog with a waste paper basket, with the intention of throwing him into a rubbish skip (dumpster) as if he were a piece of trash. That wise and intelligent gentleman said that this was the best thing to do since the little dog was nothing but a little bug infested menace.
Upon learning the intentions of the madman, the other man was able to snatch the dog so that the macabre act could not be completed.
One only needs to see the images of the poor abandoned and unprotected little dog to realise that the only bug infested thing was the heart of the disgraceful and undesirable being that had been contracted as a gardener byt the Spanish Armada at the fitness center.
