As part of our 25th anniversary activities in 2009, we are working to double our membership in order to redouble our efforts on behalf of abused, neglected and abandoned animals. When Best Friends first formed there were over 10 million animals being killed in the shelter system every year in the U.S., now we’re down to under 5 million, but with your help we’ll get to zero healthy animals killed in shelters. Sharing a membership not only contributes directly towards helping companion animals, but you’re also helping to spread the word and raise awareness on how Best Friends is helping the animals we all love! To “Give the Gift” is like paying it forward for the animals!
