Tune in Friday, September 19 for new episode of Dogtown
Of course every animal that comes to the Best Friends Animal Society Sanctuary is a rescue, but a few of the canines featured in Friday’s episode of Dogtown come from a particularly poignant circumstance.
144 dogs were left in remote Gabbs, Nevada with few options following the passing of their hoarder guardian. Unsocialized and frightened, the dogs were all saved due to a collaborative effort among many animal welfare organizations. “Project Rescue” will highlight a few of the dogs who were in need of immediate assistance.
The show will feature:
• Johnny: a golden retriever, once thought to be ‘too dumb” to learn, proves the naysayers incorrect
• Baxt: the smallest in a litter of malnourished puppies rescued from Gabbs, who has some challenges to overcome
• Tuffy: a pointer mix is discovered at Gabbs with potentially lethal injuries from the other dogs and must be rushed for emergency medical care
“Project Rescue” is scheduled to air this Friday, September 19 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern on the National Geographic channel.
The episodes keep coming, so please be sure to clear all your Friday nights for a while…
