Dixie the cat is returned to her owners after nine years thanks to microchip

By Christy Crabtree, Best Friends Network

A happy ending all around for Dixie and her excited owners who were reunited with their beloved pet earlier this week after a concerned citizen contacted the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) about a wandering cat. Now 15 years old, Dixie went missing in 1999 and was feared dead by her owners, Alan and Gilly Delaney.

Nine years later after a call came into the RSPCA about a cat that had been around the area for several months, the charity was able to use her microchip to confirm her identity and reunite her with her owners who’ve been showering the cat with love ever since.
