A Special Home is Needed for a Special Dog

Champ spent the first part of his life on a chain.

Champ spent the first part of his life on a chain. Confined to a chain in a backyard in Indianapolis he never had the chance to experience the type of a life a dog deserves, until he met volunteers from FIDO.
First, Friends of Dogs Outside (FIDO) provided Champ's owner with a dog house to help make Champ's situation a little better. But, when FIDO volunteers returned to check on him, they found him barely alive suffering from multiple dog bite wounds.
FIDO worked with local animal control agencies and Champ's owner to see that he received the veterinary care he so desperately needed and finally to see that Champ was surrendered to the rescue group. It has been a long road for Champ, but he is finally well and searching for a forever home.
His forever family will need to be a family that is very dog-savvy and has experience dealing with dogs with special needs. While Champ is loving and friendly with people and also female dogs, he is agressive towards male dogs and small animals such as cats. He will have to be in a home that can control his situation and ensure that he will not come in contact with other male dogs.
Champ is also an escape artist. This necessitates that he is placed with an experienced household that is prepared to control Champ's environment for his and other animals safety.
Do you think you are the right home for Champ? If you're prepared to give Champ that special forever home please contact FIDO:
