Animals Asia Foundation continues its heroics after the quake in China.

Animals Asia Foundation continues its heroics after the quake in China.

Outside a refugee camp of tents, there was a sign saying any dogs who tried to take shelter there would be killed. Animals Asia posted another sign, right next to it, which said bring your pets to them instead, and they'll look after them until you find a home again. The government officials standing by seemed happy with the second notice. It had Animals Asia's phone number. Within minutes, people were calling it.

At another camp, people who'd lost everything and who were crowded together with mud under their feet offered the Animals Asia folks bowls of noodles. People learned of their interest in animals, expressed concern of their own, and one couple asked them to look after two small dogs they were hiding.

The crew then rescued a group of dogs trapped in a pet store, a pregnant mom cat on the street with an injured paw....these people are in the center of the action and making a difference every step of the way!

You can keep up with all of their ongoing efforts on their blog: http://www.animalsasia.org/blog/

There's also a donation button at the bottom of every entry, and they could sure use the help.

Animals Asia is out courageously helping others in spite of significant damage to their own facility.

Please, please, please help the animals of the earthquake hit area of China... dogs are being shot, hung, and poisoned to death for fear of them spreading disease, or competing with humans for food scraps. Animals Asia is the only organization I am aware of that is making concerted efforts to stem the tide of dog genocide in that poorly informed country. NOWHERE ELSE is this information getting out. At least, I haven't heard one story on the news about it. Just another dirty little secret out of China.

Wait...I dont understand something here.....maybe someone can help me with this.....now, the article said: "Animals Asia posted another sign, right next to it, which said bring your pets to them (Animals Asia) instead, and they (Animals Asia) will look after them until you find a home again." Ok, makes perfect sense...Animals Asia are a wonderful group..

What confuses me, are the next sentences.....

"The government officials seemed happy with the second notice" (Animals Asia's notice?).

The Chinese government officials seemed happy that cats and dogs were getting consideration and shelter?

This in itself is a front page news story, seeing as how the Chinese government massacred dogs last year and ordered the "clean up" (I.E. massacre) of stray cats for their precious Olympics, just recently.
Now they all of a sudden are "happy" that cats and dogs have a place of shelter? If this is true, this is fantastic, because this would be a major (and fast) turn around (and an almost unbelievable one at that) in the behavior of China's government towards cats and dogs

Unless the "officials" were good caring Chinese people who work for the government, but do not support or make the brutal policy that the government does, regarding animals (four-legged and two-legged). That could explain what the article meant? Or has the government had a complete change in the way they view and treat cats and dogs in China?

Let's continue...."The government officials seemed happy with the second notice. It had their phone number". So, Animals Asia's sign had the Chinese government's phone number on it? Didnt Animals Asia say that THEY would look after pets, while the pets' owners found new homes? Why then would they list the Chinese government's phone number, especially in light of the recent massacres/threats mentioned above, instead of their own (Animals Asia's phone number) so that the animals would fall into hands that will love them and save them, instead of murdering them?

I dont understand.

Or was the article saying that the government officials were happy that Animals Asia's phone number was on the sign? The article implied that the Chinese officials' number was on the sign, atleast it looked that way to me...I may be wrong.

And if the signs are right next to each other, and the Chinese government officials were happy with the Animals Asia sign, why didnt they tell the jerks who put up the "we will kill your pets" sign, to take down their sign, and warn them that anyone who kills pets would receive severe penalties?

I dont know...the article doesnt make sense to me. Maybe I am tired (it's late).

Regardless, the earthquakes in China were tragic for all living souls involved and I hope that every being will come together for the good of every other being. Sad, but true, sometimes it takes a tragedy to change perspectives on just how precious life, all life, truly is.

I wish the Animals Asia Foundation well with their work in China to save cats, dogs and all animals from pain, suffering and death.

52 lives saved in a single day is something very admirable. It says very good things about the Foundation

They are doing well.

God Bless You for caring,

Matt

One other quick question....regarding the 52 lives that Animals Asia Foundation saved in a single day....does that include the babies that the mother cat is carrying? If it doesnt, then the number of lives saved is even more than 52, which is even better news.....
