HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- A meeting of the Dog Law Advisory Board is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, in the VIP Lounge of the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center.
Jessie Smith, the state's special deputy secretary for dog law enforcement, will present Governor Edward G. Rendell's new preliminary draft of dog law legislation and regulations for improving the health and welfare of dogs in kennels.
"Governor Rendell is committed to improving the lives of all dogs in Pennsylvania, and these new preliminary draft proposals are a step toward doing just that," said Smith. "We welcome feedback from the advisory board, and will use that feedback to refine these proposals."
The public is invited to attend the presentation and hear comments from the board. Only board members will have an opportunity to provide comment during the meeting, but members of the public are encouraged to contact their board representatives with questions or comments. The general public will be invited to provide comment on the legislation once it is introduced, and the regulations when published.
