Animals In Danger Due to Strike!

W@H Canada has just received an urgent plea for help from the?Toronto Cat?Rescue for the animals of the Hamilton Animal Control Shelter.

From TCR: The animal care workers in Hamilton may be going on strike as of?Monday. If? they do go on strike ALL ANIMALS IN THE SHELTER WILL BE EUTHANIZED?MONDAY?morning as there will be no one at work to clean and feed. THIS?INCLUDES ALL CATS AND SMALL DOMESTICS (bunnies, hamsters, etc.).?

If anyone knows of anyone that may want to foster now is the time?for them to?start. Any ideas of what we can do to help is appreciated. So sad that the animals have to pay with their lives.

Numerous bad things have been said about Hamilton and their apparent lack of?compassion and concern for the well being of the companion animals in shelters?there.

De TCR:??Les employés qui s'occupent des animaux à Hamilton peuvent tomber en?grève dès Lundi. S'ils tombent en grève Lundi TOUT LES ANIMAUX DU?REFUGE SERONT EUTHANASIER LUNDI matin car il n'y aura oersonne pour?les nourir et nettoyer leur cage, CECI INCLUE TOUT LES CHATS ET LES?PETITS ANIMAUX (lapins, hamster, etc...)??

Si quelqu'un connait quelqu'un qui srait près à être foyer d'acceuil?voici le moment. Toutes suggestions qui pourrait nous aidé serait?apprécié.??Si triste que les animaix doivent payer de leur vie.??

J'ai entendu plusieurs mauvaises choses?au sujet de Hamilton et leur manque apparent de compassion et de souci?pour le bien-être des animaux de compagnie qui se trouvent dans leurs?refuges.

Don't be ridiculous.
The animal control workers are CUPE members and employees of the city of Hamilton.
The SPCA is a completely seperate entity - which receives NO government funding -it operates soley on charity and money raised through charitable events.
The only emergency at the Hamilton SPCA is that there are *always* animals withouth loving homes, but that, sadly, doesn't appear to ever change. :(
Should the ACO go on strike, the SPCA and the fine animal employees and volunteers would *never* let anything bad happen to the animals in the care of ACO. The Hamilton SPCA is a No Kill shelter, meaning, no animal is ever put to sleep because of a lack of space.
