Old English Sheepdog Trains for Marathon

Marcos Elias Mora is originally from Costa Rica in Central America and lived for a bit in Chicago about 10 years ago.

By day Marcos is a Sales Manager for Cisco Systems and in his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife, Mariys, his 20 month old son, Sebas and Ruffo, his five year old, Old English Sheepdog.

You may be wondering how helpful a big Old English Sheepdog is with regards to the training regime? Well he participates in the 20 minute warm up run everyday! Ruffo loves kids, loves to play with them and really likes running with Marcos.

Marcos has run the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon in 2002, 2003 and 2004 and is looking forward to his fourth marathon. He came across Best Friends on the marathon list of charities and thought it would be a good fit because he loves animals.

Because Marcos feels he started his training a little late he tells me he is open for some training tips from other runners. But somehow I think with all of his previous marathon experience he will do just fine!

Good running Marcos and Ruffo, thanks for running for Best Friends - and Marcos we will be cheering you on at the finish line!
