Ahoy Mateys! 357 dogs and cats found homes at the No More Homeless Pets in Utah fall “Rescue Me” Super Adoption in Salt Lake. To help promote the “Rescue Me” theme, dogs in life jackets boarded the USS Rescue- a boat provided on site by Taylor’s Boats.
Good weather graced the three day event which was held Friday-Sunday (Sept 14-16) in front of the PetSmart store at 389 West 1830 South in Salt Lake City and thousands of folks came out to rescue the dog or cat of their dreams. No More Homeless Pets in Utah in partnership with PetSmart Charities hosted the adoption weekend along with the following sponsors: Comcast, Millcreek Broadcasting, Fox 13 TV, Metro Display, Zions Bank and Purina Pro Plan’s Rally to Rescue.
To help educate pet lovers and raise awareness for pet rescue nationwide, the second annual Purina® Pro Plan® Rally Across America tour was part of the weekend. At the event, residents had the opportunity to learn more about pet rescue, adopt dogs and cats from local organizations and get schooled in training tips from Pro Plan trainer, Melissa Heeter and her rescue dog, Viola. Heeter provided customized training techniques based on three distinct rescued pet personality profiles. Pet owners will be able to use these techniques at home with their own pets or their newest four-legged friend.
No More Homeless Pets in Utah thanks all the great organizations, sponsors and volunteers who made this successful adoption weekend possible!
