Here is Clemente on vacation in Croatia. This little galgo had the good fortune of being born at Refugio Kimba, and will never know what it is to live under the hands of Spanish galgueros.
Refugio is located in Chiclana de la Frontera in the province of Cadiz, (Andalusia) the southernmost part of Spain near the Atlantic coast. It is the oldest shelter in Spain, founded in 1872 and they initially only cared for plants. The name Kimba is a homage to a lion who was abandoned by a circus and spent many years at the shelter until she died there.
Maria Jose, Jose Manuel, Elena and Alba work tirelessly along with several other volunteers all year long to maintain the animals (160 dogs and 20 cats at any given time) and the upkeep of the grounds and facilities. Their colaboration with other animal organizations in northern Europe and their program "Padrinos de Vuelos" (flight Godparents) has been successful in finding permanent homes for over 100 dogs in countries in northern Europe.

Clemente de vacaciones por Croacia. Este pequeño galgo tuvo la suerte de nacer en el Refugio Kimba y nunca conocerá lo que es crecer en manos de galgueros.
Refugio Kimba, situado en Chiclana de la Frontera (Cádiz) es la protectora más antigua de España, fue creada en 1872 y al principio solo cuidaban plantas. El nombre de Kimba es un homenaje a una leona que fue abandoanda por un circo y estuvo varios años en el refugio hasta que murió, y de aquí su nombre.
Maria José, José Manuel, Elena y Alba trabajan incasablemente juntos con varios otros voluntarios todo el año manteniendo los animales (160 perros y 20 gatos ), el campo y las instalaciones. Por su colaboración con algunas organizaciones protectoras del norte de Europa y con su gran programa de Padrinos de Vuelos han tenido el éxito de encontrar a familias para más de 100 perros en los países del norte de Europa.
