When puppy mamas Analia and Lindsey – Best Friends’ puppy caregivers – first met this litter of seven, little did they know that Lindsey's choice of names would be a prediction of their personalities!
Poblano, Serrano, Habanero, Jalapeno, Cayenne, Chipotle and Paprika.
Known as “The Pepper Pups,” Analia will tell you that during the dog days of summer, these seven little hotties kept everyone hopping.
Redefining the word "feisty," daily puppy smack-downs rivaled any in primetime wrestling. Poblano and Cayenne emerged as the early dominators, with Chipotle and Paprika bearing the brunt of the brawls. Serrano and Jalapeno strategically aligned with the winning side. And Habanero came to be known as “the drama queen.”

The squabbling got to be so extreme, that little
Paprika was placed with staff foster mom Andrea, and the remaining six were split up into two separate runs. How would these rambunctious puppies ever make it into forever homes?
Professor Don, a seasoned veteran of
Puppy Class, knew this would be his toughest test yet. Many lively litters have graduated under Don’s gentle but firm approach, but he’d heard about this gang of seven. Even with
Dogtown volunteers, daily classes might not be enough.
Would “The Pepper Pups” be too tough to tame? Would they learn to chill out in Puppy Class?
To be continued. …
