Residents afraid of losing homes are killing stray cats

The feral cat population in Swan Lake Country Estates in Mira Loma, California has worsened.

Unfortunately, many residents of the mobile home park are afraid of being evicted for feeding the cats and have resorted to killing strays or dumping them at animal control to be euthanized.

Feeding the cats is a violation of park rules and failure to comply may result in legal proceedings and termination of tenancy.

Last March, Best Friends ran a story about the TNR and rescue efforts of Beth Kohler and other volunteers who are desperately trying to save the cats.

The problem has continued to grow and immediate help is needed before more cats are killed.

• Contact Beth Kohler to foster or adopt a cat or kitten, or to take cats to be spayed/neutered.

Indeed, Beth and Debbie have literally been working to save these cats for quite some time, and it has been an uphill battle. They are true heroes!

Please help if you can! We are taking a truckload of trapped kitties to be fixed on Monday. every little bit helps!

God help them in their struggle. I hope it doesn't all overwhelm them as it is such an uphill struggle. When will these little creatures be recognised for the beautiful creatures they are, and not be treated as pests and vermin?
