Alex is a handsome blind 6 yr old German shepherd who was living in an isolated and neglectful situation in Ohio.
From Debbie, All Things Pawssible Animal Rescue
Fortunately we connected with a fabulous rescuer out there, Alicia, and she saved Alex yesterday. The conditions he endured were so horrible. Alex was sleeping alone in a dirty barn and was tied up all day. In addition to being blind, Alex is underweight, has a patchy coat and scaly skin, and very overgrown toenails. Today Alicia took Alex to the vet for a check-up and got devastating news.....Alex is heartworm positive and has been for awhile. Right now he is too weak to undergo any treatment- including vaccinations. Alicia is keeping him quiet and fattening him up.
The good news is that Alex has a fabulous home waiting for him in Chester County, PA. We hope to get him on a transport soon and get him started on treatment. We are going to do everything possible to make sure Alex gets healthy so he can enjoy a wonderful life with his new family.
What you can do
The economy has devastated animal rescues. Adoptions are slow and surrenders are high......and our funds are depleted. We will move heaven and earth to help Alex - and hope that you will help us. Any amount is welcome. Please share Alex's story with other dog lovers.
If you have any questions, please let us know. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts- and so does Alex. WOOF.
