Horse show in Huntington Beach on Saturday, June 27 promises fun for the entire family

Looking for the perfect summer day-cation? Visit Huntington Central Park Equestrian Center (HCPEC) on Saturday, June 27th for an All Breed Benefit Horse Show to raise money for Red Bucket Equine Rescue (RBER) and the Therapeutic Riding Center(TRC). The setting is ideal-25 acres of hilly, sun kissed land overlooking Central Park and surrounded by 185 acres of public trails.

The fun begins at 8 a.m. with local firemen serving up a hot pancake breakfast. Festivities will include face painting, pony rides, carnival games and a silent auction. This event is free to the public.

The horse show will include Hunters, Jumpers, Western and Dressage and is open to HCPEC boarders, lesees and lesson students (juniors and amateurs only). For more information or to register for the show, visit HorseShowTime.com.

Volunteers are needed for many different positions at the horse show, including office staff, crowd control, parking, ring crew, vendor staff, food concessions, silent auction promotion, silent auction show day staff, set-up day, clean-up day, decoration organization, set-up and clean-up, etc. If you are able to volunteer, contact Julie Golden, event coordinator, at hbhorseshows@yahoo.com or (714) 847-1575.

RBER is a newly founded horse rescue group that currently has 50 rescue horses in their care. Volunteers, donations and funds are desperately needed to support the group in their efforts to rehabilitate horses, restore their trust in humankind, and find them safe, loving and permanent adoptive homes. The TRC was founded in 1991 and allows mentally or physically challenged individuals to handle and ride the horses at HCPEC. This volunteer program has been successful in improving balance, coordination, muscle relaxation, and self esteem. For more details, contact HCPEC at (714)848-6565.
