Please attend this Wednesday 6/10/09 on behalf of Billy the Elephant at L.A. Zoo
Bob Barker, long-time animal welfare advocate, will participate in a press conference on Wednesday, June 10, at 10:30 am to commemorate the third anniversary of the death of Gita, the L.A. Zoo's Asian elephant that was plagued with health issues related to zoo captivity.
The press conference will address the three-year long delay in obtaining the results of the USDA investigation into Gita’s death and the welfare of Billy, the L.A. Zoo's lone surviving elephant.
