Tune in Wednesday May 20

Unless there is a last-minute change, Best Friends will be included in a follow-up story on our Vicktory Dogs tonight on the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams.

Mara Schiavocampo, digital news correspondent for “NBC Nightly News” and a Best Friends donor, came to the sanctuary to do her story on what the Michael Vick dogs have been through and how they’re now doing.

The segment will air Wednesday, May 20, on NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams. Check your local listings for the time.

Schiavocampo’s segment will focus on two dogs at Best Friends—Georgia and Lucas—as well as on Leo, who was placed with a pit bull advocacy group in San Jose, California.

“I’m so inspired by this place,” she said in the middle of taping her segment. “It’s god-work taking care of those who can’t take care of themselves.”

Hard to believe the jailbird is getting out already. The dogs he murdered arent getting a second chance (although they are happy and safe in heaven), yet the jerk wants to play football again.

If the NFL has any guts, they will deny him the opportunity to play again.

If the NFL doesnt have the guts, well, I hope he gets sacked by a 381 pounder on the first play and snaps a leg.

Hey, his leg will heal.

The wounds he inflicted on those innocent dogs.....wont.

Sorry, but when you commit murder, you should lose all consideration in society.

I'm all for giving criminals a second chance, but murder is one situation where second chances should not be allowed.
Permanent jail should be the penalty.

I fear the dogs who were tortured and killed by Mr Vick will be forgotten. Seeing him try and get back into football is no surprise and neither is him becoming a new spokesperson for the Humane Society. This is a pathetic and calculated attempt to gain forgiveness from the public so he can play football again. There are plenty of well known people who could join the fight against dog fighting. And I think most people will not take his speaking out seriously anyway and will see right through it. I saw the mansion where he will be living now on the news today. They said he was out of jail after serving time for dog fighting. There was no mention of how he electrocuted and drowned some of them.
