As the saying goes, “a friend in need is a friend indeed.” This is particularly true of the many animals who come to the Best Friends Sanctuary and the National Geographic show “DogTown” highlights several poignant stories about canines who require help: medically, emotionally or behaviorally.
This Friday’s episode of “DogTown” will feature three such dogs:
• Rose: this emaciated pit bull was rescued after Hurricane Gustav hit New Orleans, needing to be nursed back to health.
• Sophie: a sheltie mix who becomes overly protective of people in her life, resulting in aggressive behavior.
• Ellie: a hound who suffers from a variety of medical conditions. Can she be cured?
Friends in Need is scheduled to air this Friday, April 24 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern on the National Geographic Channel.
Please be sure to clear all your Friday nights this spring, as new episodes are scheduled through May:
• Will to Survive: Friday, May 1
Featuring Chico, Scone and Tuxedo
• Life After Dogtown: Friday, May 8
Updates on some past favorites including Tuffy, Remington, Ruger, Aristotle, Wiggles and Johnny
• A Fresh Start: Friday, May 15
Featuring Bingo, Casey and Zambi
• Rescue and Renewal: Friday, May 22
Featuring Parker, Barney and Buzz
