Most of you probably remember Joy Moffat’s article last March 1,600 Homeless Cats Receive Toys from Operation Happy Sock about Girl Scout Troop 3086 in northern Virginia, and their contributions to “Operation Happy Sock.” Believe us, it is worth a re-read.
A community activity like this shows how a spirited group of volunteers can have a large impact on their local homeless pet population. The best part of this project is the ability to do your part from home or as a member of a small local group.
Anyone who emails happysock@verizon.net will receive a FREE “Operation Happy Sock Info Kit” by email. This Word document includes ready-to-use signs for collecting sock donations, suggestions for finding affordable supplies locally, photos of finished Happy Socks, and step-by-step instructions for each phase of the project.
Go to www.operationhappysock.org to learn more about this wonderful effort that Martha has started. She will give your group all of the information that you need to complete your own local “Operation Happy Sock” project. You can also visit the Operation Happy Sock Blog on blogspot.com.
NOTE: The contact information for Operation Happy Sock has changed since last year’s article. Please use the links in this article to contact Operation Happy Sock.
